What Pep Guardiola said to Adam Lallana after Man City's win over Brighton
The Manchester City boss got into an animated chat with the Brighton midfielder Adam Lallana and then shortly afterwards with Albion coach Bruno at the Amex
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was involved in a lengthy and animated conversation with Brighton's Adam Lallana following his side's 4-1 win at the Amex.
Goals from Ilkay Gundogan, a double from Phil Foden, and a late Riyad Mahrez strike, sandwiched either side of an Alexis Mac Allister penalty, gave the defending Premier League champions a very impressive victory.
After the match, Seagulls star Lallana and Guardiola appeared to get into a passionate conversation and it went on for a good few minutes on the Amex turf.
Many onlookers were trying to surmise what their topic of conversation revolved around, as there was a lot of gesticulating from the City boss in particular.
While the chat went on for a long time, the former Barcelona boss' explanation of what was said was very brief.
"We talked about our families, the kids, this kind of stuff," he said.
After that was done with, Guardiola was heading towards the tunnel, he saw Brighton coach and former player Bruno.
The two represented the Catalonia national team and they first met in 2005 in a 1-1 draw against Paraguay.
He told Sky Sports last week: "My first game for Catalonia was his last game. He [Guardiola] was an idol, really.
"He came through the academy at Barcelona, so all of us as youngsters from Catalonia looked at him as an example. He was 18 when he first started playing for the first team so when I first met him it was amazing."
Guardiola then got into another long chat but we may never know what was discussed.
