Roberto Carlos reacts to Manchester United player Luke Shaw's England performance
Man Utd star Luke Shaw has been one of England's stand-out performers at the European Championship
England are through to the semi-finals of an international tournament for the second time in a row, having swept aside Ukraine in Rome.
The Three Lions reached the semi-finals at the World Cup in 2018, where they lost to Croatia, but are aiming to secure a long-awaited international trophy — with the only previous success coming in 1966.
Ukraine proved to be no challenge for England, with a brace from Harry Kane and goals from Jordan Henderson and Manchester United captain Harry Maguire setting up a semi-final against Denmark at Wembley on Wednesday.
A host of England players caught the eye with their performances at the Stadio Olimpico, including United full-back Luke Shaw, who notched two assists.
The 25-year-old has shone over the course of the last 12 months, revitalised under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and shining during United's league campaign, before going on to replicate those performances on the international stage.
That has seen Shaw cement his spot as Gareth Southgate's first-choice left-back, fending off competition from Champions League winner Ben Chilwell and Atletico Madrid's versatile full-back Kieran Trippier.
Having played a key role in both of England's goals against Germany last time out, Shaw performed once again to earn a plethora of praise.
Among those to respond to Shaw's fine performance was Brazilian icon Roberto Carlos, who is widely recognised as arguably the greatest left-sided defender in history.
After Shaw took to social media after the game to celebrate England's win, Carlos issued his seal of approval with a number of clapping hands emojis.
He is clearly impressed with what he's seeing from the United left-back right now.
