Manchester United fans name the team they want to see in Rangnick's first game vs Crystal Palace
Manchester United will be looking to make a winning start to life under new interim manager Ralf Rangnick against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford
Manchester United will be looking to make a winning start to life under new interim manager Ralf Rangnick when they welcome Crystal Palace to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, kick-off 2:00pm.
United, who have won just one of their last four meetings with Palace, will be looking to build on Thursday evening's thrilling 3-2 victory over Arsenal and register back-to-back Premier League wins for just the second time this season.
A brace from Cristiano Ronaldo and a solitary strike from Bruno Fernandes were enough to seal all three points for the Reds, as Rangnick took up a watching brief in the directors' box, before entering the dugout for the first time on Sunday.
With a new manager now in place, plus the confidence that will have been earned from the win over Arsenal, United will fancy their chances of getting the better of a Palace side winless in their last three matches.
Former Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be back available for selection after missing out in midweek, but the likes of Raphael Varane, Paul Pogba and Edinson Cavani remain sidelined.
But how do United's supporters want to see Rangnick set his side up against Palace? Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what United's supporters have voted for using our interactive widget.
Goalkeeper - David de Gea
Although he was in the limelight for a bizarre, unforgettable reason against Arsenal, De Gea still played a key role in helping United secure three points.
His search for a first clean sheet at Old Trafford this season may still be ongoing, but the Spaniard has been in inspired form this term and made a fine save in the second half on Thursday evening, denying Gabriel, to prove his worth once more.
Unsurprisingly, United's supporters want to see him start in goal.
Defence - Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Alex Telles
As far as the back-four is concerned, United's supporters want Rangnick to hit the copy and paste button from the win over Arsenal.
Even though Luke Shaw and Wan-Bissaka may be back in contention, United's supporters want to see Dalot and Telles continue in the full-back positions, with Maguire and Lindelof lining up at centre-back.
If Rangnick goes with the same quartet that started against Arsenal, they will have to prove their worth to the German, as he has already placed an emphasis on United restoring a sense of control and balance at the back.
Midfield - Fred, Bruno Fernandes, Donny van de Beek
Both Fred and Fernandes played key roles in United's victory over Arsenal and the supporters want to see the pair of them retain their places in the starting line-up against Palace.
Fred claimed the assist for Fernandes' first half strike and won the penalty for Ronaldo to smash home the game's winner. Fellow midfielder Scott McTominay, however, did not have such great an impact on the game and the supporters are calling for him to be dropped at the expense of Van de Beek.
United's supporters are hoping that Rangnick's arrival at the club will give the Dutchman a new lease of life at Old Trafford and they want to see him start from the very beginning of the German's tenure.
If Rangnick is to grant the supporters their wish, and Van de Beek and Fernandes both start, it would offer a very attack-minded look to United's midfield.
Attack - Jadon Sancho, Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford
Copy and paste - again.
United's supporters want Rangnick to go with the exact same front-three that started against Arsenal, but with a slight tactical change.
They want to see Sancho come over to the right-flank, with Rashford moving over to the left. The pair often interchanged against Arsenal, but Sancho spent more time on the left-wing, opposed to his natural right-sided berth.
Unsurprisingly, the supporters want to see Ronaldo spearhead the forward line.
Starting line-up United's supporters want to see vs Crystal Palace: De Gea; Dalot, Maguire, Lindelof, Telles; Fred, Van de Beek, Fernandes; Sancho, Ronaldo, Rashford.
