'I hate it' - Gary Lineker sends 11 word message after Liverpool beat Leicester City
Former England international Gary Lineker made his feelings known on social media as Liverpool knocked his beloved Leicester out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night
Letting a two goal lead slip not once, but twice is a tough pill to swallow for Leicester fan Gary Lineker as Liverpool came from behind to book their place in the semi final of the Carabao Cup.
The Foxes quickly surged into a 2-0 lead before going into the half-time break 3-1 to the good and a place in the draw for the semi final looked to be secured.
Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side never know when to stop and that was evident again on Wednesday night after goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Diogo Jota and Takumi Minamino took it to a penalty shootout.
Caoimhin Kelleher was the hero in the shootout after saving two Leicester penalties and former England striker Lineker made his feelings known on social media about the outcome of the match.
With Brendan Rodgers' side down in ninth in the Premier League, the Carabao Cup quickly became a priority for them, but a depleted Liverpool became a bridge too far.
After the match, Lineker tweeted: "I love football, but every now and then I hate it."
